Carolyn Thompson is a journalist and media trainer based in Juba, South Sudan. She previously reported for several Canadian newspapers and has worked in Ghana, South Africa, Rwanda, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

There is no end in sight to South Sudan’s conflict, which has destroyed communities and upended the economy. Even when the bullets stop, high rates of stunting – caused by persistent food shortages – will make it difficult for the country to recover.
