Ulrich Schmiedel, D.Phil. (Oxford), is lecturer in systematic theology at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Germany. His recent research, including the coedited compilation “Religion in the European Refugee Crisis” (New York, 2018), concentrates on the intersections of religion and migration.
