NAIROBI, Kenya – Kenya has one of the highest rates of HIV infection in the world, and young women aged between 15 and 24 account for more than 20 percent of all new infections. But Brenda Alwanyi is on a mission to change that. She was crowned Kenya’s Condom Queen in September by her university and, supported by the NGO Pathfinder International, spends her weekends in some of Nairobi’s poorest neighborhoods, handing out condoms and educating women and girls about sexual health.
