Early last year, we launched an in-depth series about the different ways women are affected by radicalization – as victims, perpetrators and peacemakers. In the newest installment of that series, Christianne Boudreau recounts her personal experience of losing her son Damian to radical extremism in Syria, and her quest to understand what attracts young people toward extremist ideologies.
Produced by Kerning Cultures, a podcast that dissects the complex narratives of the Middle East through stories, the episode, entitled At the Feet of the Mother, highlights why mothers are an untapped force for preventing further extremism among youth on a global scale.
