BANGALORE, India – Of the around 110,000 bus drivers in Bangalore, only one is a woman. Prema Nadapatti, 40, has been driving her route since 2009 and says she has never faced any discrimination. If anything, she adds, being a woman is an advantage, as other motorists tend to give way to her. A pioneer behind the wheel, Nadapatti now wants to start training other women to sit at the front of the bus.
